Since 1982, we have responded to the needs of our community, offering recovery oriented behavioral health and wellness services and outreach and case management to homeless individuals and families.

Prologue’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program offers hope and support to adults with severe and persistent mental illness and to those with co-occurring substance use disorders. PRP services and supports encourage the development of an individual’s self-sufficiency and success in life. It has fully accessible program space, transportation and resources available.

Prologue meets homeless individuals throughout the Baltimore County area wherever they are – on the streets, in campsites, and at shelters. Those who are eligible for the services meet with a case manager to develop an individual service plan to remove barriers to housing and assist with social security benefit issues that prevent access to housing rental assistance.

Self-help and mutual support are key to mental health wellness. Our Martylog Wellness and Recovery Center offers recovery-oriented activities and social events. Our One Voice Northwest Recovery Community Center helps those recovering from addictions, alcoholism and substance use benefit from being part of a community where they can share their struggles in a recovery-oriented atmosphere.

Prologue’s Targeted Case Management Team members support participants wherever they are in their recovery of significant and persistent mental illness. A Case Manager works with participants in the community or in their home in Baltimore County and utilizes a collaborative process to achieve personal goals.

GET INVOLVED. Make a difference by offering financial support or volunteering your time and talents. You can make a positive impact upon people’s lives.
Welcome! Prologue is about people; we exist to help people with behavioral health needs and those experiencing homelessness overcome their challenges and have their dreams realized. For us, each individual has the right to self-determination; we form partnerships with each person to help them achieve their goals. It is our mission to create opportunities by promoting positive change and offering person-centered support in recovery.
We advance our mission by supporting individuals in cultivating relationships, aiding them in learning skills to increase independence and promote improved health. Services are person-centered; the individual identifies goals that build on their strengths. We then offer services that support and assist that person in reaching their goals and dreams.
